'Digital Overload' explores the relationship between art and technology, paying homage to abstract expressionism artists like Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. As Rothko said, 'I am only interested in expressing basic human emotions: tragedy, ecstasy, doom and so on. A painting is not a picture of an experience; it is an experience.' I took this concept to heart as I created a series of abstract paintings on my iPad using a digital palette I created from colors extracted from readymade objects. The resulting images blur the lines between what is real and what is artificial, highlighting the irony of the digital age.
I then took the idea a step further by building a virtual 3D gallery to display the paintings, inviting viewers to experience the art in a completely digital space. By exploring the possibilities and limitations of art in a digital world, 'Digital Overload' is a statement about the emotional power of abstract art and its ability to transcend the limitations of medium.
